Gunjan Kedia is the president and chief executive officer of U.S. Bancorp, the fifth-largest commercial bank in the country. She also serves as a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Gunjan became CEO in April 2025 after serving as president of U.S. Bancorp since 2024, where she oversaw the company’s three business lines – Consumer and Business Banking, Payment Services, and Wealth, Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking. Kedia brings 30 years of financial services experience to her role. Before joining U.S. Bancorp in 2016, she held global executive positions at BNY and State Street Financial. Previously, she was a partner at McKinsey & Company, and a core leader of its financial services practice. She began her career at PwC. Kedia earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering, with distinction, from the Delhi School of Engineering and an MBA, with distinction, from Carnegie Mellon University.
“I believe that stablecoins and cryptocurrencies fundamentally shift how money moves and who might move it. Our core mission should be to infuse capital into our communities to create new opportunities for businesses and people – not to be complacent. My view is that the passage of the GENIUS Act has created starting points of what that framework could look like, and we are watching closely to see how the market thinking will evolve with it.”
